Baptism

What is Baptism?

Baptism is a sacrament. In a sacrament, God uses common elements — in baptism, water — as a means or vehicle of divine grace. It is an act of God through the grace of Jesus Christ and the work of the Holy Spirit.

Infant baptism is a means of God’s grace, whereby God begins to draw (John Wesley, the founder of the Methodist Movement, used the word “woo”) the child to Himself, helping the child to come to a point in their life where they recognize their need for a Savior.

For those (children and adults) who have come to faith in Jesus Christ and who have not been baptized as infants, we offer baptism through sprinkling, pouring, or by immersion.

Every time a person enters into newness of life with Jesus Christ, the Bible tells us that all of heaven rejoices! Baptism is therefore a celebration and an outward proclamation of an inward reality that God has brought new life to this believer!

We are excited to walk with you and your family through the exciting baptismal process. Whether you are interested in publicly proclaiming your faith in Jesus Christ through believer’s baptism or you are considering having your child baptized, we are eager to serve you in this celebration!
